"Of making many books there is no end”—Ecclesiastes 12:12. I always thought this
verse referred to how many books could be made, not to the book-writing process
itself. Now, having had the challenging experience of putting together my own
book, this verse has new meaning.

Trust
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
This verse is the favorite of many believers. But, I wonder how many of us live
by it? It is easier said than done. To trust God means to know Him as God and to
not trust the limitations in our own mind. We limit God in our minds by the way
we think. This is to our detriment. This famous passage is encouraging us to
trust God with our hearts, the place where God dwells by faith through the
spirit. Job said that even if God slayed him, Job would trust in him. That is
trust. That if everything fails in our lives, we still believe God over our own
assessment of the situation. We still trust in his great promises, knowing that
we will receive a reward in eternity as sure as the sun comes up every morning.
Prayer: LORD, I commit to trusting you at all times. I ask that you exchange my
fleshly mindset for one in the spirit, one that thinks according to your
truthful principles. Set me free from the limited perspective I hold so often,
and bless me to really know you from this day forward. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
